Jean’s focus and patience when creating, lends her to create works that involves a repetitive nature and process. She enjoys being able to relax and create with movements that seem rhythmic. She has always had a love for yarn, from crocheting to using it to wrap and wrap around bottles and other objects.
As she continues to grow as an artist, she has tried other mediums such as painting and using everyday objects to create beauty. She continues her process of repetition in this as well, such as rolling numerous cardboard tube rolls or creating sculptures that involve stacking wooden spools. Her ability to find beauty in everyday objects also relates to how she views people in her life, where she shows appreciation through compliments and by giving her artwork as gifts. “My artwork is a way to show others I am thinking about them,” states Jean.
